Frequently Asked Questions
A. The only way to be sure that you are pregnant is to confirm your pregnancy with a lab quality urine pregnancy test. Dazz offers these pregnancy tests for free, and you will receive your results on the same day.
A. If your test comes back positive, you have three options. You can either decide to parent, have an abortion, or place your child for adoption. At your appointment, we can provide you with information regarding your options.
A. We offer urine STI (Sexually Transmitted Infection) / STD testing and treatment for South Carolina’s most prevalent STI’s. If you think you may have an STI, please contact us to schedule an appointment.
A. Dazz can help you in many ways. We offer free medical services to confirm your pregnancy (pregnancy testing) and determine how far along you are (ultrasound), as well as STI testing. We provide accurate, up-to-date information about your pregnancy options. We also offer free parenting classes and a Baby Boutique where you can shop for great stuff for your baby, all for free. If you would like referrals to see an Ob/Gyn, we can refer you, as well as adoption information and referrals if you’re considering placing your baby for adoption.
A. No one can force you to do anything you don’t want to do. Abortions are medical procedures and only you can make the decision to have one, not even your parents, your friends or your boyfriend. Sometimes the people close to us offer advice or even tell us what to do, but no one can force you to have an abortion.
A. It may seem daunting at first when considering the needs of a baby, but remember that you don’t have to do everything overnight. At Dazz, we have an amazing parenting program that can help you get prepared for a baby on the way. And while you take our easy self-guided classes, you can earn Baby Bucks for great items like baby clothes, diapers, formula, strollers and more. There are also programs like Medicaid, CHIP, SNAP and Head Start that can help you find affordable healthcare, childcare and more for your baby. There’s a lot of help out there, so don’t feel overwhelmed.
A. If your pregnancy test comes back positive, you may schedule a limited obstetrical ultrasound. An ultrasound scan is a device that uses sound waves to create an image of the inside of your body. By performing an ultrasound, we can determine how far along in pregnancy you are, if it is a viable, intrauterine pregnancy (inside your uterus, and not an ectopic pregnancy), and if there is a fetal heartbeat. Ultrasounds do not hurt and are very important for determining the next steps in your pregnancy.
A. Scheduling an appointment ensures priority when you arrive at Dazz, and we do encourage them. If you don’t want to schedule ahead of time, you can always walk in during our open hours. We do our best to accommodate each person and make sure that your visit is a wonderful experience.
A. There are many factors to consider when making a pregnancy decision, and you may feel alone or confused about what to do. You are not alone!
